    Bio:

Roxi has always been passionate about the arts. She started performing in middle school in plays, musicals, band, any thing she had time for. After high school many of those activities got lost in the day to day of adult life, but she would soon be on stage again. Roxi started working in a Cleveland area Gentlemen’s Club at 19. It was a difficult journey at first; trying to recognize her beauty among all the model-like women, trying to overcome self-doubt and shyness. Eventually she started looking inside and found her own confidence and sensuality. And she learned the truth about all women: there is a goddess in each one of us. Helping women find that goddess and love themselves is why she puts her everything into Cleveland Exotic Dance.

Roxi teaches pole, exotic dance, belly dance, and burlesque. She has had over 10 years exotic dancing, training in anatomy, and over 5 years experience in massage and bodywork. In the past 3 years she has branched out as a Sex-Positive Sex Educator for Adults and has created the Sexual Wellness program and classes at Cleveland Exotic Dance.

    Lisa Wenhart
    Managing Owner

Lisa’s first exposure to pole and exotic dance came in 2007 when she was a student in our first class here at CED. She worked her way through the pole classes, was offered a position as a pole party instructor, and eventually became one of our regular pole instructors, then manager, and was eventually offered a position as partner.

Lisa has been involved in dance and theater for over 20 years. She has dual degrees from the University of Akron in Media Production and Radio & TV. Though she loves dancing and performing, Lisa is a natural planner that feels at home putting productions together, whether it be for film, television, or the stage.

In 2004, Lisa starting having problems with joint pain, weight gain, and extreme fatigue. Almost a year later, she was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), a chronic autoimmune disease. SLE had caused her to put on weight, and that paired with the arthritis forced her to learn how to live in her body again. Roxi’s dance classes were instrumental to this. She learned how to once again be comfortable in her own skin and feel sexy at any size. All these years later, her SLE is fully under control and her weight back down through a combination of of learning to better listen to her body, following a healthier diet, and doing strength bearing exercises like pole dance. In addition to modern exotic dance, Lisa is also involved in burlesque and is a member of the burlesque troupe Tease & Thank You. She has an extensive health and fitness background, and has been a vegetarian for over a decade.

Faith has been wrangling hoops since 2008, practicing at music festivals to pass time while she waited in the Rock Star Rehab Clothing booth. Since then, she has picked up many tricks in both trades and has traveled with both of them coast to coast. Known for her unique approach to hooping, she believes hoops are like golf clubs, each one has a different job, weight, and size. An array of meticulously taped and ridiculously adorable hoops are available in every class, and she often teaches with 3 hoops in a class.
She also has a background in alternative modeling, theater, improv and both stage and movie costuming. She both performs in and costumes for the fire troupe Hypnophonic Performance. While she dabbles in burlesque, belly dance and pole dance, She also studies fire fans, contortion, fire hoops and fire eating under Schmoo. A few of her garments from Rock Star Rehab Clothing are also found for sale in the studio. She loves to make arm warmers, skirts, shawls, and leg warmers out of recycled sweaters and t-shirts.

      Selena Felien
      Class & Party Instructor

Selena came to Cleveland Exotic Dance in 2011 after a decades’ worth of training in many, many different types of martial arts. She found that pole dancing allowed her to combine strength and skill with expressive movement, and her love of the dance style has continued since.

She considers herself to live in the middle ground between fitness and sexual expressiveness, using elements of each to enhance her quirky, arty flair in the dance world. Inhabiting this middle ground of expressive motion has expanded her love affair of movement to include dance flows (movement combinations that assist in linking tricks together and enhance freestyle dancing), twerking, lapdancing, and playing with poi, lyra, and contortion. In addition to sharing the art of pole (and other) dance through teaching, Selena also loves to perform. She has debuted in pole and variety shows in Cleveland, Detroit, and Columbus. In 2014, she participated in her first competition at Pole Fest. The ultimate achievement for her was to be accepted into the competition where she performed before a large audience of her peers and received feedback on her art from a panel of judges (although, yes, she did place).

Other adventures include traveling to various pole conventions like PoleCon, PoleExpo, and the Arnold Sports Fest to meet other dancers and performers and take lessons from leaders in the industry. She has also taken private workshops and lessons in other cities and states to continue expanding her knowledge and understanding of safe training techniques, progressions in teaching moves, adapting techniques to multiple skill levels and physical abilities, and combining tricks and movements into dance flows both on and off the pole.

Selena is many things, and at CED, she is always up for helping you find what you love in what you are doing.

        Erin
        Class & Party Instructor

Erin came to CED in 2009, friendless and new to the city. She quickly found her niche in our burlesque program, where she developed self confidence, amazing friendships, and some pretty slick dance moves.
Since then, she has participated in Burlesque, Belly Dance, and Pole classes, eventually becoming an instructor for weekly Burlesque classes and private Burlesque, Belly Dance, Pole, and Lapdance/Striptease parties. Erin has a background in theatre, music, dance, and art; as well as a deep interest in the history of burlesque that influences her performing and teaching style. Her classes include a strong focus on developing self confidence and helping students embrace their sensual selves. She is constantly seeking new sources of burlesque performance and history education. In 2012, she attended Burlycon in Seattle, Washington, an education- and development-focused convention for burlesque performers.
Erin has been performing under the stage name Tess La Coil since 2010 and is part of our burlesque troupe, Tease & Thank You. She has performed at such venues as Brother’s Lounge, the Beachland Ballroom, the Cleveland Masonic Auditorium, the Richland Cafe, the Highland Square Tavern, and Mahall’s in shows produced by Toxic Burlesque, Hell on Heels Burlesque, La Femme Mystique, The Red Hot Heathens, Infusion Crew, and others.
In 2014, Erin was part of the cast of RAWR WITH RODNEY, a Burlesque Fitness DVD staring Mr. Burlesque, Rodney James, a noted international performer and teacher, and frequent CED guest instructor.
Outside of CED, Erin works as a model for life drawing classes, picks up very heavy things in the gym, and watches far too many scary moves on Netflix.
She also thinks writing about oneself in the third person is weird.

        Nikki B.
        Class Instructor

Nikki started pole in September 2011, and has been teaching since May 2013. Nikki’s expression of pole is between fitness, strength training, and dance art expanding her skills in freestyling. Her passion for the sport has developed into encouraging people of all shapes, sizes, genders, and ages to participate; encouraging the start of classes for men and future ideas to start pole gymnastics for kids. She has published an article in her company newspaper explaining what pole is and what it means to her which reaches an audience that is not in the pole community.

Nikki’s classes focus on learning moves safely, strength training, and then putting multiple moves together into combinations. She is a firm believer that pole is like a language. You can learn a ton of tricks (words), and start combining them (sentences) but if you don’t know how to put them together, you can’t tell a story.
Nikki loves to street pole and do pole tricks on random street signs, structures and playgrounds.
